Everything is awesome in The Lego Movie, particularly the jokes and then that one thing near the end. Alex and James look at why Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the best mainstream directors nobody knows, why the movie is so funny, and how it uses a well-established brand name to encourage creativity in both its characters and viewers. We also discuss the film’s use of Batman (obviously), the Kragle, and the main theme of mild subversion that’s on display throughout.
