We finally give up and spend an entire episode talking about our beloved Christopher Nolan’s Batman series. We look at how Batman Begins works so well with mediocre action sequences, why Nolan doesn’t seem to like having women characters, how Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight is so good it might actually be detrimental to the film, and what techniques Nolan and company use to build their blockbusters in a way that makes you leave the theatre wanting to fight crime. Also, Alex briefly loses his mind while talking about the final scene in Batman Begins.
You can find an mp3 version of this episode here. And you can go back into the archives of February 2011 if you want to check out a previous podcast in which we talk about how Nolan got the directing job, others who were up for it, and some hopes for The Dark Knight Rises from before the movie was even shot.
