This week, we look at the movie with the largest opening weekend box office returns of all time: The Avengers. We discuss what worked, what didn’t, and how Tony Starks’ ridiculous goatee continues to exist without viewer uprising. Then we ask Travis his opinions on the movies ties to the comics universe, and what to expect from Marvel films in the future.
CORRECTION: We mention that The Avengers’ opening weekend box office returns came in at $200.2 million US, which was later changed by Marvel Studios to an even more impressive $207 million US. That’s almost enough to pay for 1/38 of the damage done to New York City in the film. Also, you can find the mp3 version of this podcast here.

THE GOATEE IS AWESOME. When Iron Man first came out I tried to shave my goatee into it.
I have arranged my points into a list…
1. Most notable thing for me was it seemed like the first movie i’ve seen since Avatar where the 3D had a positive impact. Most times I’ll see a movie in 3D and afterwards think “well, that 3D was not needed” but this time felt the 3D brought alot to the table. Especially in the final battle with Ironman flying all over the place.
2. 7/10!!! common.. it was better then that! Especially since it was better then just action figured slamming against each other.
3. Top Travis Lines in no particular order…
“It’s like an intergalactic pimp glove.”
“I have organized my life into pre-Avengers and post-Avengers”
“Gunna see it again in 2d to figure all that out”
“hit snooze on his outlook calender”
4. Great cast guys.
