Apatow’s one and only character type captures the confused, underworked twenty-something really well. Fortunately that covers everyone I know so I’m happy.
Looking forward to this weeks podcast. Hope you guys can get along.

Not a starter, but makes a huge impact. And yes, that does make James the worst

I like the ending of Freaks & Geeks though – it’s very hippie and “the world is a wide open road for you to choose your own path on,” but I feel like that is a totally accurate way for somebody to look back on their high school years. I don’t remember if they knew they were getting cancelled when that was written, but I think it works kind of perfectly.

(Also, Haverchuck eating a sandwich and watching television by himself is one of the most endearing, human scenes that I’ve seen.)

Undeclared/Freaks&Geeks… i guess they are “failures” but are really good. that is, if you’re ok with a series ending with the main character running away to chase the Grateful Dead.
