I love them both, but James has seen neither because he’s the worst. I like the ending of Freaks & Geeks though – it’s very hippie and “the world is a wide open road for you to choose your own path on,” but I feel like that is a totally accurate way for somebody to look back on their high school years. I don’t remember if they knew they were getting cancelled when that was written, but I think it works kind of perfectly.
(Also, Haverchuck eating a sandwich and watching television by himself is one of the most endearing, human scenes that I’ve seen.)
