Alex explains why the first two X-Men movies were interesting, we discuss the Red Skull and HYDRA as a stand-in for Hitler, talk about the perception of comic book movies growing up, and compare the use of history in each of the 2011 blockbusters.

CORRECTION: Alex incorrectly states that ‘That Guy’ actors Whip Hubley and James Rebhorn are in X-Men: First Class. However, pretty much every other ‘That Guy’ actor is, including Oliver Platt, Michael Ironside, Glenn Morshower, James Remar, Corey Johnson, Ray Wise, Rade Serbedzija, Olek Krupa, and the actor Alex refers to as the older, bootleg version of Sean Penn, Matt Craven.
